The Art of Writing SEO-Friendly Content

The Art of Writing SEO-Friendly Content

As an experienced marketer, I understand how vital it is for new online entrepreneurs to grasp the power of SEO-friendly content. SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is what helps make your content visible on the internet. SEO-friendly content increases your website’s visibility on search engines, resulting in more traffic and, ultimately, more opportunities for conversions. Today, we’ll uncover the art of writing SEO-friendly content, a skill that’s essential for online success.

Understand Your Target Audience: To write SEO-friendly content, you must understand who you’re writing for. Identify your target audience and their needs, wants, and interests. Use this information to inform your content creation process

Do Keyword Research: Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to find the keywords relevant to your target audience. Keywords are words or phrases that people use to search for information on search engines. Using these keywords in your content makes it easier for search engines to find and rank your website.

Create Quality Content: Quality content is informative, engaging, and valuable to your audience. It’s not just about keyword stuffing. The goal is to provide valuable information to your readers using keywords naturally within the content. (As one of my mentors once mentioned, He writes for Humans first, and lets the search engines find him later.)

Use Relevant Headings and Subheadings: Headings and subheadings make your content easier to read and understand. They also provide an opportunity to use your keywords, enhancing your SEO.

Optimise Your Meta Descriptions: Meta descriptions are short snippets that describe what your content is about. They appear under your webpage title in search engine results. A compelling and keyword-optimised meta description can boost your visibility.

Include Internal and External Links: Linking to other relevant content on your website (internal links) or to reputable sources (external links) boosts your SEO. This practice improves your website’s credibility and user experience.

Use Alt Text for Images: Alt text is a description of an image that appears if the image fails to load. It’s also used by screen readers for visually impaired users. Including relevant keywords in your alt text can improve your SEO. (I believe the search engines also can’t ‘see’ an image, so it must help them too, finding the keywords in your alt text.

Update Your Content Regularly: Search engines favour websites with fresh and updated content. Regularly review and update your content to maintain or improve its SEO ranking.

Developing the art of writing SEO-friendly content is a gradual process. It requires practice, patience, and a willingness to stay updated with changing SEO trends. But the payoff – increased visibility, traffic, and conversions – is worth the effort.

As we conclude, let me mention a ‘done for you business’ opportunity in online marketing.
