Fear Factor: Break Free and Reach Your True Potential
Most people have one fear or another. Be it spiders, snakes, heights or even of all things, success.
Of not being successful?
Seems like a crazy notion but it’s one of the top reasons people do not thrive.
Some people can relate to a fear of failure because let’s face it, everyone has doubts now and then. It’s that sneaky voice in our heads that tells us we’re not good enough, smart enough, or not worthy enough.
Fear of Success:
Yes, you heard that right – fear of success. Some people fear success and don’t even know it. People often worry about the responsibilities and expectations that come with success. But remember, success is not a scary beast; it’s the reward for your hard work and determination. It’s why we do what we do.
But here’s the kicker: most of the time, fears are as real as unicorns! (Shhhhh, unicorns are not real) It’s high time we banish our fears and unleash our full potential. So, grab your courage as we dive into taking steps to conquer our fears together!
What happens if you DO achieve success?
When it comes to starting or building a business what happens if your business is successful?
- Maybe you won’t have time for family or friends
- Maybe you think you’re not smart enough
- You won’t be able to attract any clients
- But maybe just maybe it’s everything you’ve dreamed of
Fear, whether of failure or success can be dealt with. Fear was designed to keep us safe. Our brain thinks it’s protecting us.
It is very possible to override fears. Recognize them, deal with them, and move forward.
Here are some tips to attack any fears head on:
- Acknowledge: Notice that you have fear. Instead of drowning in fear, notice it is there and let it go. When you think, “What’s wrong with me” or “Why can’t I get this” flip the switch and recognize, “I have this fear, but I can figure it out” or “Who can I ask for help to see past this situation”
Be like Elsa and just Let It Go!
- Baby Steps: When you have a goal it can feel overwhelming, but when you break it down into smaller steps it can be more manageable. When you have a large monetary goal it can seem unattainable. If you know you need to sell 60 items of your product each month to reach your goal that may seem like a lot, but when you break it down to only 2 a day it suddenly seems simple. Take things one step at a time.
- Do Things That Scare You: Face your fears and do it anyway. Ask yourself, “What’s the worst that can happen”? On the flip side, “What’s the BEST that can happen”? Do it anyway!
- Get Clear: Take quiet time to get clear on what you want and then make a plan. Knowing what you’re going to do will make the journey to success easier.
Life is short. Maybe you want to make a difference. Just think what can you accomplish if you do a little every day. Little actions lead to big rewards. Stay true to yourself and you will go far.
