How to Write Content That Gets Results

Writing content is something that every Internet marketer has to worry about these days. After all, your entire website is based upon your content and all the keywords that are used to find your site come from inserting them naturally into the content. That means everything from how long people stay on your site to what they are able to find it for in Google all depends on having good content. Let’s take a look at some ways that you can write content that gets results.

Define Your Goal
The first thing you need to do before you even start writing is to define your goal. If you begin writing without knowing what the end goal is for your content, then your writing is going to meander around without driving towards the point that you want to make. If you are trying to educate people, then make sure that each paragraph gives the information that they need. If you are trying to convince them to take action, then make sure that every paragraph drives them towards that action.

Tell a Compelling Story
You need to get the reader hooked right away if you want them to continue to read your content. This means that you need to tell them a compelling story that they are going to relate to.

For example, if you were going to try to sell someone on a dog training eBook that you have written, then you may want to start out with a story about your own dog. Telling someone how you had trouble in the past getting your dog to behave will let them know that you are like them. You’re someone who understands because you love dogs as much as they do and have gone through some of the same things as them.

Identify a Problem
You will also want to identify a problem that the reader is likely having if they have arrived at your page on purpose. This can sometimes be as simple as making a statement about a pain point that the reader is likely facing. To continue with the previous example, if you were trying to sell someone a dog training eBook, you might start out with: With all of the advice out there on how to train your dog, from the television to the best-selling author, how do you choose a dog training program that is going to be effective? This lets them know right away that you understand exactly what they are experiencing.

Demonstrate How You Can Solve That Problem
You will next need to demonstrate why you and you alone will solve that problem if you want them to take action. For example, if you want them to buy the eBook that you are selling, then you need to demonstrate to them why your eBook will help them train their dog faster, more effective and better than any other training program out there.

Reinforce the Most Important Points
Make sure that you and your article reinforce the most important points that you have made throughout. It doesn’t matter if the content is informative, intended to provoke action or a description of a product, repeat the most important points to make sure that they stay with the customer even if they leave the page.

The Bottom Line
The bottom line is that it is challenging to write good content, but it is not impossible. You have to begin with the basics, keep learning and improve with every piece you write.
