Affiliate Marketing for Beginners

Affiliate Marketing for Beginners

How to Start Your Money-Making Online Business

Affiliate marketing remains one of the most popular ways anyone can earn money online. While some sites may recommend it as the easiest way to make money online, many beginners fail at it. In order to succeed, you need to understand what affiliate marketing is, how to attract eager buyers to the products, and how to use the right tools every beginner needs.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

The concept is quite simple. A company or individual with products to sell offers a commission to affiliates who get people to buy their products. For example, a camping supply company wants to reach more customers and make more money selling tents and backpacks. They allow affiliates to sign up who can promote these products to their own audience. If one of these people buys a tent through the special coded link, the camping supply company handles the order and the affiliate earns a percentage of the sale as an affiliate payment.

As an affiliate, every time you sell another company’s product, you get paid a commission from that sale. Most of the process, including the sale, happens online. You are simply given an affiliate link that you can market to potential buyers. When they buy from your link, the sale is tied to you. That’s how companies know that you’ve just earned a commission.

This is very ideal for beginners who wish to have an online business. You don’t have to create your own product to sell. You don’t have to worry about customer support. All you need to do is promote your affiliate link.

How to Sell Products to Eager Buyers

In order to get a sale, you will need to find your customers.

Building a lucrative online business with affiliate marketing involves creating a system of getting the affiliate links in front of a target audience who wants to buy those products. How do you find people in the vast internet to buy from your affiliate link?

Many options exist. Some of the most popular and effective methods include:

  • Creating niche websites with a lot of content. You would then add your affiliate links throughout the website for viewers to click.
  • Building an affiliate-based e-commerce shop.
  • Posting affiliate ads on social media platforms.
  • Buying clicks from internet traffic vendors. This might be via soloads, or search engine ads, or media advertisements.

What’s important is that you understand the target audience who wants the types of products you offer. You want to find your buyers.

Content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and other forms of online advertising are necessary skills you need to be a successful affiliate marketer.

What Tools Do Beginner Affiliates Need?

Theoretically, you could just promote your affiliate link to buyers and get sales. However, this will not lead to success. The reason for this is a whole other future article.

At the very least, you will need the following two tools.

Sales Funnel

This requires a series of web pages that will include your email capture page, landing page, and a thank you page. The email capture page will save your customer’s email address into your Email Autoresponder.

Email Autoresponder

Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp are just some of the companies that offer email services. This is where your customers’ email addresses will be saved. Here, you will be able to send them emails to promote your affiliate link.

There are other tools that will help you with your affiliate marketing business. But these two are essential to succeed.

The Most Important Tool A Beginner Absolutely Needs

There are many resources on the internet to learn affiliate marketing. In my opinion, it is the simplest way to start your online business.

However, I truly believe that you will learn faster and succeed quicker if you have somebody to guide you through the process. And programs exist for exactly that.

The most important tools you will need as a beginner is a mentor or a coach. Without one, you will lose a lot of money in the process and will take many many years before you can even make one single sale.

There are many programs that offer coaching services for beginner affiliate marketers. Find one that has a coach that you can relate to. One that you feel you can trust.

I personally feel I can trust John Thornhill. This is why I recommend the Ambassador program. If you want to check it out, you can click on my affiliate link here.
